Sad that we don't live in New Orleans today? You can come out to see Mayor Ray Grabowski on Clifton's Mardi Gras float at 2 pm at Plaza Bagels (850 Van Houten) or at its end point at 3 pm at Grande Saloon (940 Van Houten) as he kicks off "Fat Tuesday" just before Lent.
The float will not require roads to be closed, though it may be slow-going on that small stretch of Van Houten between 2 and 3. Best to avoid that block if you can (except to come out and wave at the mayor, of course).
