The Clifton Arts Center & Sculpture Park has added a new sculpture to the park by artist, Mike Bertelli, titled “Ponder”.  The sculpture is part of a Covid-19 Garden Memorial on the outside grounds of the Clifton Municipal Complex near the Clifton Senior Center Building that was dedicated in memory of the over 300 Clifton residents lost to Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

The sculpture piece is created in cast cement and is 21”H 10” W &12” D.

With the onset of the global pandemic, we all had to pause and as the sculpture shows us carefully think and take stock.  The sculpture reflects coming to grips with the situation.   This recently dedicated COVID memorial garden features a fountain, plaque and the small statue “Ponder.”  As Mike Bertelli, sculpture artist comments “pondering thoughts of lives lost and the strength and dedication of our first lines of defense.”

Mike Bertelli is President of the Clifton Arts Center Advisory Board of Trustees.  He is curator of the Clifton Sculpture Park on the grounds of the Clifton Municipal Complex and is an established sculpture artist. His sculptures are featured at the Clifton Sculpture Park, throughout the City of Clifton and beyond.
