The Clifton UNO Pizzeria & Grill announced it's 1st Annual Cornhole Tournament for a cause, benefitting Parent's of Autistic Children (POAC Autism Services).  POAC is a nonprofit organization based in New Jersey whose mission is to "help children and adults with autism achieve their fullest potential by providing quality training, support and recreation."

The event was inspired by longtime Uno's customer, Jeyden Mateo and his parents, Jessica and Lewis.  Jeyden is 4 years old and was diagnosed with autism in December of 2019.  Despite being non-verbal, he quickly won the hearts of the Clifton UNO staff who've looked forward to his visits since he was an infant.  UNO's manager, Kim West, explained "He is just the sweetest child, he's a doll, and we just wanted to do something to help him and his parents, and other families of children like Jeyden."

POAC supports NJ families of children with autism with training for parents and educators; recreational and support services to children and adults with autism and their families; and training for police and first responders which has helped save the lives of children with autism across the state.  The organization also supports ongoing research and legislative issues that impact those with autism and their families.

The Cornhole for a cause tournament is set for Saturday, June 4th at 11:30am.  Teams will be chosen and prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.  Participants can purchase 1/2 price appetizers, 1/2 price select beer and $3 shot specials!  Registration is $15 and all registration fees will benefit PAOC.

Also participating is Clifton VFW post 7165, which has made a donation ahead of the event.  West added, "We are thankful to VFW Post 7165 and Commander Anthony Spoto for their support ahead of our first cornhole for a cause in Clifton."

UNO invites Clifton residents to come out for a fun afternoon while helping to support NJ families and children with autism!
