City Green Hiring Summer Interns in Clifton for Growing Strong program
City Green, Inc., an urban farming nonprofit based in Clifton is hiring Summer Interns as part of it's Growing Strong Intern program, all Clifton high school students are invited to apply.
The program is ideal for students with an interest in helping the environment, giving back to their community and who enjoy being outdoors. City Green explains that the "mission of Growing Strong is to provide paid summer employment to high school students in Paterson and Clifton, enhanced by a youth development program that ensures college and career readiness. By working in an urban farming and market enterprise or educational garden/farm camp program, interns positively engage with their community; benefit from purposeful mentorship and peer collaboration; and foster a personal connection to food systems, healthy eating and the environment."
The program intends to give students the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new friends, and give back while working at City Green in three different types of “crews." Each crew has different everyday tasks, but all work in farming, gardening, or education in positions such as Farm Crew Members, Garden Camp Counselors, or Farm Camp Counselors during an 8-week paid internship.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in High School & must reside in Paterson or Clifton. Applications are due May 24th-25th.
