NJ recently executed the Point in Time Count of individuals experiencing homelessness for 2022, which is mandated by The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  Volunteers, homeless service providers and Health Department teams across the state canvas communities to record counts of homeless families and individuals, many communities have seen increases in homelessness due to the Covid-19 pandemic and NJ's recent end to it's eviction moratorium.

Councilwoman Lauren Murphy reported at the February 1st Clifton City Council Meeting that Clifton's count had been completed by volunteers and staff and revealed 17 adult homeless individuals in the Botany area.

If residents are aware of unsheltered homeless in need of a warming center call 211 to access a shelter, or the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at (973) 389-5951.
