SOUPer Bowl of Caring: Help Feed the Hungry in the Clifton Community
Submitted By: Pam Fueshko, Acting Executive Director | St. Peter's Haven
St. Peter’s Haven will again be participating in the nationwide event known as Souper Bowl of Caring. The goal of Souper Bowl of Caring is to encourage youth and their community at large to tackle hunger by utilizing the energy and hype surrounding the Super Bowl to draw attention to hunger in their community. Beginning from a single youth-led event, it has become a powerful movement that transforms the time around the Big Game into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and caring for those in need.
St. Peter’s Haven in Clifton has participated in this national campaign for over 20 years, since the 1990's, and will be collecting canned and boxed goods or monetary donations for Souper Bowl of Caring.
Schools, youth-based programs, and businesses are welcomed to host their own food drives in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. People can donate as little as 1 canned good or $1 to the cause. Already, School 2 in Clifton is participating in this program as part of their annual canned food drive.
All items can be dropped off at St. Peter’s Haven at 380 Clifton Avenue on one of the following dates:
Friday, February 11: 12 – 4PM
Saturday, February 12: 9AM – 1PM
Sunday, February 13: 9AM – 1PM
Please indicate that you are dropping off for Souper Bowl of Caring. The amount collected by St. Peter’s Haven will be reported to the national organization.
