RESIDENT HIGHLIGHT: Meet A Clifton Star - Lily Yezdanian
Lily Yezdanian is 13 years old, born and raised in Clifton. She is a 7th grader at Lacordaire Academy in Montclair, which she has attended since kindergarten.
Lily has been studying voice since age five and is already an experienced actress. She's performed in an off-Broadway production of A Little Princess, starred as Matilda in Matilda with the Gas Lamp Players and played the role of Cinderella in Into the Woods with Broadway Arts Lab Company.
Currently training in classical/opera and musical theatre, Lily has placed in the top three in many area vocal contests. She recently took first place in the NY Prima Volta National Music Competition for classical song.
She doesn't just act and sing! In addition to her work in theatre arts, Lily is also part of Lacordaire’s award-winning Drama and Debate team and took 1st place in Dramatic Reading in the Union County Dramatic League.
Lily also enjoys swimming, working out, and fashion and during the pandemic she discovered a new passion - aerial silks yoga! This is the art of yoga and acrobatic tricks performed while hanging suspended in long strips of fabric. The lockdown was a perfect time for Lily to practice this unusual skill.
Lily hopes to one day perform on Broadway or even with The Metropolitan Opera. Her dream role would be to play Christine in Phantom of the Opera. Lily also plans to go to college and study psychology.
