The tight race for 3 Passaic County Commissioner seats has ended after provisional vote totals were released. Candidate positions had changed repeatedly during 2 weeks of vote counting with Republicans leading on election night.  But current totals show two Democrat incumbents were re-elected along with one Republican challenger.

Unofficial results have Incumbent Democrat Commissioners Sandi Lazzara and John Bartlett re-elected by slim margins and joined by Republican challenger Nicolino Gallo, a Totowa businessman. Gallo is the first Republican elected to the County Board of Commissioners in over a decade.  This will be the third term for Lazzara and the fourth for Bartlett.

Democrat Zoila Cassanova also trailed on election night, but was ultimately elected as County Surrogate; defeating Republican Aisha Mamkej by over a thousand  votes.
