Get To Know Hailey Mia, Clifton Native Competes in Top 13 on NBC's The Voice
Hailey Mia of Clifton, is currently competing among the Top 13 contestants on NBC’s The Voice, after she secured the Wild Card slot in last week’s episode. To whittle the competition from 20 to 13 competitors, the two performers with the most viewer votes from each team automatically advanced. Each coach could then save one more of their singers.
Hailey was saved by viewer voting from the remaining four contestants.
Hailey Mia has been singing since she was a young child. Her mother, Gina, said they noticed her voice was something special, so she began singing lessons at a vocal school in New York when she was 8 years old. She has worked with a vocal coach ever since.
Hailey grew up in Clifton and has lived here since she was about 3 years old; she attended Clifton schools until just this past year when she began at Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) in Wayne.
Hailey waited until she was 13 to be able to audition for The Voice and hopes to have a singing career. She said being on The Voice has been “once in a lifetime” and full of experiences people dream of. This experience has helped her understand what is involved in a professional career in music.
Hailey has always had a love of singing and says “I want to speak to the world through music.” She currently has over 34,000 followers on Instagram where she shares behind the scenes pictures from The Voice.
Watch Hailey perform live again tonight on The Voice, 8/7 on NBC.
