A flash flood watch was issued by the National Weather Service for parts of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York continuing through Tuesday afternoon. In NJ, watch area includes northeast New Jersey: Eastern Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Union, and Hudson counties.
The National Weather service indicated there is a rapidly developing low pressure system south of Long Island that could produce heavy rainfall across the region up to 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts possible. Rainfall could exceed one inch per hour, which may produce areas of flash flooding.
Residents should monitor continuing forecasts and be prepared if a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
Partly cloudy, with a high of 70 and low of 48 degrees. Sunny for the morning, partly cloudy in the afternoon, clear overnight.
