Patrick McGowan of Clifton was announced as one of eleven students at Seton Hall Prep that were recognized as Commended Students as part of the National Merit Scholarship program for 2021-22.

Commended Students fit a high level of overall academic achievement and receive a score in the top 2-4% of the 1.5 million high school students that take the PSAT test nationwide.

Patrick previously attended St. Andrew’s the Apostle school in Clifton, in its last year prior to closing.  He was also recently recognized as an Eagle Scout with Clifton’s Troop 23,  which is an achievement of the highest rank within the Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts of America).  Since it's inception over 100 years ago, only 4% of Scouts have attained this level after fulfilling requirements in the areas of leadership, service, physical fitness and outdoor skills.

Congratulations to Patrick and the McGowan family on his hard work and achievement.
