The Clifton Times Pet of The Week: Meet Emma Uber!

Image

December is one of the biggest travel months of the year.  Just ask Emma Uber, a sweet little tabby cat who is currently at the Clifton Animal Shelter and looking for her forever home. Emma Uber is 4-5 years old and has been spayed, fully vetted, and vaccinated. She is healthy, clean, and loves to cuddle and rub up against people and is looking for a warm lap to land in this holiday season! Check out her adoption video and her Petfinder profile for more details.

Won’t you take this little Uber home?

Emma Uber is the princess who rescued herself. She found herself outside and decided to find a helpful human and jump into their car looking for a ride. The kind Samaritan brought her out of the cold and into the safety of the shelter. Emma is obviously a very clever kitty, and an independent problem solver as well!

Emma Uber is healthy and clean and is very obviously used to being loved and treated well by people. She is very sweet and people-focused and rubs up against people looking for affection. The shelter believes that she must have had a loving home at one point, and probably was not outside for long. Sadly, when they scanned Emma, she didn’t have a chip or any other information that could have helped them find her way home, so now she is looking for a new beginning with a loving family.

Emma is happy to be a tax and financial advisor for your family’s year-end needs!

Emma Uber’s story is a reminder that even the best-laid plans can go astray, and your pet may escape and become disoriented and unable to find their way home. To keep your pets safe if that happens, you should make sure that they have visible identification on their collars and a microchip, with your current address. Many pets are found who have microchips but the address is no longer current, and they cannot be returned to their homes. Having a visible means of identification and a microchip can get your pet home quickly and safely. Microchipping is easy, low-cost, and doesn’t involve anesthesia or any other risks to your pet. Microchipping (and vaccinations) are available for dogs and cats throughout the year at many Petco stores. You can locate a clinic near you at vetcoclinics.com. You can also ask your veterinarian or local animal shelter for microchipping advice and prices. For more on microchipping your pet, please see HERE.

There’s no place like home for the holidays and Emma Uber would be delighted to join yours.

If you think Emma Uber would be the perfect addition to your family, please fill out the adoption application at the Clifton Animal Shelter and someone will contact you to discuss and answer any questions that you may have and to set up a time to come in to meet them. The shelter does this to ensure that the environment is calm and conducive to having potential adopters get a good sense of the personality of the companion animal, and so they aren’t subjecting them to unnecessary stress. The shelter is located in the City Hall Complex at 900 Clifton Avenue in Clifton.

If you are not yet ready to adopt, fostering is a great way to help the Clifton Shelter.  Adoptions slow down during the holiday season, and fostering a pet in your home can reduce their stress and help prepare them to be adopted, as well as help the shelter learn more about the kind of homes they would need to thrive. It is also a wonderful way to get lots of cuddles to keep warm over the winter months.  You can also support the Clifton Animal Shelter by donating via their PayPal link or by donating supplies to them from their wishlists (Chewy or Amazon).

Please consider making Emma Uber a permanent part of your family this holiday season! The shelter has many wonderful pets in need, ready to bring lots of love and joy to your home, as we slide into 2024.  What better way to start the new year than with more love from a rescued pet?  Check out their page on Petfinder to see if there is someone you can foster or adopt!
