We are in for a short week, Clifton schools!
On Monday the 6th, there will be a Christopher Columbus Middle School Home and School Association meeting at the CCMS cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to follow their Facebook page for regular updates about CCMS. Every Clifton school has its own HSA and they are a great way to get informed on activities and important information occurring at the school and to get involved in fundraisers, field trips, and more.
On Tuesday, November 7th, all schools in the district will be closed to accommodate Election Day. Make sure to go to your local polling place and vote in the various elections occurring. There are three open seats on the Board of Education. To learn a little about each of them, see this story. Be sure to answer the public question on your ballot, too! Voting yes would establish an Open Space Fund to help preserve and improve our parks, playgrounds, farmlands, and other green spaces. You can learn more about it here.
All schools will be closed yet again on Thursday and Friday for the annual New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) convention. The NJEA convention is meant for educators and other certified staff to participate in “over 300 professional development seminars, workshops, and programs.” With teachers given two days off to attend, all students will enjoy a four-day weekend. Enjoy the short break!
Make sure to keep an eye out for the many sports available at Clifton High School! You can view the full athletic schedule at the CHS Athletic Event Calendar for more information regarding times and locations.
