Theater League to Hold Auditions For ‘Carol Burnett’ Dinner/Theater
The Theater League of Clifton will hold auditions for its 2024 dinner/theater production of “A Tribute to Carol Burnett.” Auditions will be held Nov. 13, 15 and 20, 7-9 p.m. at Mario’s Restaurant, 710 Van Houten Ave. Clifton, N.J.
Actors selected for the production will reprise roles and perform favorite skits from the popular Carol Burnett Show, which aired for 11 seasons (1967-1978) on the CBS television network and won numerous Emmy awards.
Bill Kaufman is the director of the show. Kaufman directed the Theater League’s successful 2023 dinner/theater production of “Meshuggah-Nuns.” Mark Peterson, the president of the Theater League of Clifton, will serve as the show’s producer.
Kaufman said that he’s “seeking four men and four women with strong comedic skills who can play characters from the Carol Burnett Show for auditions on Nov.13 and 15. Singing ability is a plus. For the audition on Nov. 20, I’m seeking variety performers who can impersonate, such as singers who would be guest artists on the show (for example Julie Andrews, Cher, and Frank Sinatra.). I’m also looking for stand-up comedians, magicians, and drag artists. Tapes also can be sent to me via email at email@example.com. This is a non-paying community theater.”
The dinner/theater show will be held at Mario’s Restaurant, and performance dates in 2024 are slated for February 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, and March 2, 3.
Founded in 2005, the Theater League of Clifton is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering an appreciation of the arts through theatrical performances, while providing quality entertainment for all ages. The Theater League of Clifton welcomes volunteers in all aspects of performance and production.
