This local Clifton non-profit and green space is hosting two events this weekend as well as their bi-weekly farm stand (on Wednesdays and Fridays) at their beautiful Clifton Green Farm Eco Center at 171 Grove Street, Clifton NJ. This is the site of the old Schultheis Farm, which is now preserved farmland. For more details on the events, check out their events page HERE. Visitors can also pet the goats at the Learning Farm. Bring your own picnic, and enjoy the late summer sunshine. This event is free to attend.
City Green hosts their next monthly free Open Saturday on August 19, 2023 from 10 am to 2 pm. This is an opportunity to explore the farm and the gardens and meet the lovely staff, volunteers, educators, and interns who make City Green the wonderful place that it is. For more on the activities set out for families please read our article about Open Saturdays HERE.
There also is a farm stand at City Green Farm every Wednesday from 4 pm to 6 pm and Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm and at Clifton City Hall every Wednesday from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. For more information, visit citygreenonline.org/markets. City Green offers Good Food Bucks, a nutrition incentive program that allows recipients of WIC and SNAP benefits to use their federal food benefit dollars to double the value of those dollars, allowing recipients to purchase twice as much locally grown, organic, seasonal food as they could normally buy at the grocery store.
City Green Farm Eco-Center is a wonderful place to enjoy the fruits and vegetables of summer, as the summer holidays wind down!
