More Graffiti; City Calls in State Police

On Friday, June 2, The Clifton Times reported on antisemitic graffiti on Allwood Road next to the Park and Ride after several residents spotted it. It was removed by the city yesterday. Today, June 3, new graffiti, in what appeared to be the same handwriting, appeared on that exact spot. This time it wasn't a website but instructions to look up a particular video series posted by Al Jazeera on YouTube. While the focus on the earlier graffiti was specifically antisemitic in nature, the new message seemed to be aimed at encouraging anti-Israel sentiment.

Clifton Mayor Ray Grabowski and City Manager Nick Villano both responded quickly and just hours later, a city worker had removed the chalked writing. State police were called in as well and an investigation is underway.

The message from Clifton leadership is clear - this will not be tolerated nor taken lightly. If any resident has information about who is behind this repeated offense, we urge you to contact City Manager Villano at dvillano@cliftonnj.org or (973) 470-5854 during business hours.
