It’s Cinco de Mayo and Clifton has so many different places for you to celebrate in style! Do a quick Google search of “Mexican restaurants near me” and you’ll find no less than 17 official Mexican eateries right here in Clifton. Some are family-friendly places for tacos, burritos, and quesadillas; others are a bit more adult-focused with full bars and live entertainment, but it’s pretty much guaranteed that every single one of them will be packed to capacity today!
Earlier this week, The Clifton Times published a survey asking our readers for their top picks for the best: tacos, nachos, and margaritas. The voting was tight, but the winners in each category, as chosen by you are:

Whether you like your margarita frozen or on-the-rocks, Bitol’s makes some of the finest margaritas around. There are a dozen different margarita options on the menu. Along with the classic margarita, you can also choose from eleven other exotic flavored margaritas, including: Lulo (tropical fruit), passion Fruit, guava, mango, tamarind, strawberry, blood orange vanilla, pomegranate, smoky pineapple, lychee, and pitaya (dragon fruit).
If that doesn’t whet your appetite enough, Bitol’s boasts a tequila menu with 29 different tequilas, from blanco to reposado to mezcal.

If you love nachos, you’ll definitely want to give these nachos a try. It starts with house-made salted lime tortilla chips, crisp, salty, and delicious. Next comes a heap of savory toppings that include: a Mexican three-cheese blend, refried beans, pico de Gallo, jalapeños, and cotija cheese served with sour cream and refreshing salsa verde. Want to add a bit of protein? For an extra charge Tio Taco will top off your nachos with pulled chicken, ground beef, Guajillo chicken, or pork belly. Practically a meal in itself.

Apparently, Bitol does more than just make the best margaritas in town because our readers also selected them as the spot for getting the best tacos, too! Their Taco Tuesday menu includes four stunning varieties and you get two tacos for under $10. Whether you like meat or seafood tacos, Bitol’s has the winning recipe. Their inventive De Pez taco includes crispy fish, guacamole, apple coleslaw, and chipotle aioli. Al Pastor has marinated pork, bacon, onions, and pineapple. Their Carne Asada (not available on Taco Tuesday) taco includes hanger steak, avocado, black beans, and pico de Gallo.
Most Mexican establishments will have extended hours today and reservations may be next-to-impossible to get, but it’s definitely worth heading out to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the delicious tastes of Mexico and the wonderful people of Clifton.
