There’s a buzz in Downtown Clifton... A new restaurant offering an inventive menu, excellent food, great service, and one of the coolest vibes of any restaurant in town: Bohemian Bistro.
As the name implies Bohemian Bistro celebrates a worldwide fusion of tastes, incorporating Dominican, Asian, Mediterranean and other flavors to deliver something truly memorable.
Locally-sourced ingredients are skillfully prepared, infusing exciting flavor combinations, and pairing modern culinary techniques with a nod to the traditional.
Executive Chef Dario Morillo leaned on his degree in culinary arts from Cordon Bleu and his 20+ years in the food and beverage industry when creating Bohemian Bistro’s inventive menu. Along with Chef Dario, Bohemian Bistro boasts a team with decades of experience in the food, beverage and service industries. Last week, we spent a few minutes with three members of the team: Maribel Madera who handles the day-to-day operation of the restaurant and who helped design the beautiful new interior of the establishment, Tamika Diaz who brings with her an extensive background in the culinary arts, and her partner, Nicolas Reyes who has worked in the food industry for many years.
Reyes was enthusiastic about the location of this new restaurant, stating that he sees great opportunity in the downtown Clifton area and thinks that there is no better place to be than on Main Avenue.
“This area is going to be center stage and we want to be a part of it. We have a great menu and a great product, which we want to share with people everywhere, said Reyes. With Bohemian Bistro we are creating more than a restaurant, we are creating a brand.”
Bohemian Bistro is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00AM to 11:00PM. The menu is expansive, with offerings that include meat, seafood, vegetarian options, and more.
A few menu standouts:
Creamy Chicken Volcanoes: A stack of deliciousness with a base of yucca mofongo, topped with creamy shredded chicken and smoked black bean corn salsa. A great first course, portioned for sharing. One of the best items on the menu.
Chimi Sliders: A trio of beef patties, topped with pickled cabbage and a delicious secret sauce, served on a toasted brioche bun branded with the restaurant's logo on top.
Grilled Chicken, Lamb, and Shrimp Hanging Skewers: A standout addition, with great presentation and served with a bed of jasmine rice.
White Lobster & Shrimp Mac: Cavatappi pasta, fresh lobster and tiger shrimp in a creamy white cheese sauce. Pure decadence.
Churros: A table-size serving of homemade bite-size churros served with both dulce de leche and chocolate dipping sauces. Be sure you save room for this one!
