Home Invasion Under Investigation

Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 12 pm, officers responded to an address on Linden Avenue in Clifton on the report of a home invasion in progress. The officers arrived at the home to find a 73-year-old female lying on the living room floor. Her mouth, wrist, and ankles had been bound in duct tape.

After the officers freed the victim, they were able to obtain an account of what had transpired. According to the victim, she had been working on an arts and crafts project in her kitchen when she heard someone enter the home. She originally thought nothing of it and believed it to be a family member. Within seconds, she was accosted by two male parties who were wearing all black; one of whom was in possession of a handgun. One of the suspects proceeded to throw the victim to the floor and then used her own duct tape (for the arts and crafts project) to tie her up and cover her mouth.

The suspects then ransacked the home and made off with an undetermined amount of valuables. They then fled the scene, leaving the victim bound on the floor. Thankfully, the victim was able to remove the duct tape from her mouth and retrieve her cell phone from her pants pocket.

The only description of the suspects is that they were two dark-skinned males dressed all in black and wearing (possible) surgical masks. The act appears to be random at this time.
