Update on Clifton Public Library, Part II

Image

On February 19 The Clifton Times posted an update on the status of the boiler repair at Main Memorial Library. As of March 2, the library is still on limited browsing hours due to ongoing issues with the boiler repair. Library Director, Justine Tomczak, anticipates being back to full operation in the next week or two.

Supply chain delays have contributed to the long wait and the necessary temporary heating setup has made parts of the library unsuitable for public visitors, with large heaters and snaking cables throughout the children's room and much of the second floor.

A large floor-standing heater helps to circulate warm air in the children's room.
Cables hang from the ceiling in the children's room.

Library staff are available to retrieve materials from closed sections of the library during this time, including the Reference section. Patrons can search for books via the online catalog. There are also thousands of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines available from the comfort of home via the digital catalog.

New adult books, large print, fiction, graphic novels, and mysteries on the first floor are still available for brief browsing visits.

Limited hours at Main Memorial continue to be offered Monday-Saturday between 10 am and 3 pm. Director Tomczak encourages patrons to visit the Allwood Branch with visiting hours Monday-Saturday between 10 am and 9 pm most nights. Check HERE for details.
