Berkshire Hathaway Art Gallery to Exhibit Pastels by Clifton Artist Michael Gabriele

The Art Gallery at Berkshire Hathaway Homes Services New Jersey Properties, 79 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, will host an exhibition of new and recent pastels by Clifton artist Michael Gabriele. There will be an opening reception for the exhibit on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 5-7 p.m. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

A portion of any art sales during the exhibit will be donated as a charitable gift to the Sunshine Kids Foundation (www.sunshinekids.org).

Most recently, Gabriele’s still life and landscape pastels were displayed at the Berkshire Hathaway art gallery in Montclair. During the last three years Gabriele’s art has been part of the annual exhibitions of the Allied Artists of America, New York. He also serves as a member of that organization’s executive board. Separately, the Passaic County Arts Center (the John W. Rea House) in Hawthorne, in the summer of 2021, hosted a display of his pastels.

Gabriele’s pastels were selected five times over the course of nine years (2007-2016) for the annual “Art Connections” exhibit, organized and held at the George Segal Gallery at Montclair State University. During 2011 and 2012 he served as the “artist in residence” for Clifton High School’s Art Academy program, and is a member of the Clifton Arts Center’s advisory board.

A 1975 graduate of Montclair State University, Gabriele has resided in Clifton for more than 30 years. He’s a member of the executive boards of the Theater League of Clifton, the New Jersey Folk Festival at Rutgers University, and the Nutley Historical Society.
