On September 2nd a deserving local veteran experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of a vehicle to provide them independence and the ability to work and take care of other veterans – thanks to New Trimble Auto Body, GEICO, and the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program.

The presentation was held at New Trimble Auto Body on Trimble Avenue in Clifton.   U.S. Army veteran Frank “Doc” Schupp was selected by the New Jersey Veterans Network to receive the vehicle donation.

Frank “Doc” Schupp served with an infantry unit as a medic in the Iraq War, he is a veteran activist, who gained a sense of importance in taking care of soldiers.  Schupp and his team run a bi-annual toy drive benefiting hospitalized and disadvantaged children called “The Little Heroes Toy drive.” Additionally, during the COVID pandemic, he helped setup numerous feeding events and drop offs for disabled veterans.  Doc and his ever-present sidekick Shadow (a therapy dog in training) often visit veterans shelters and hospitals and creates field trips for the veterans. These are just small examples of the work he does in the veteran community.

Mr. Schupp said of the donation, "Having a bigger and reliable vehicle will help me continue to help local hospitals and the veteran community, this car is such a blessing”

Mr. Schupp was presented with a newly refurbished 2016 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle was donated by GEICO and New Trimble Auto Body, and other vendors helped bring the vehicle back to a like-new condition.
